Unity Opto Technology, a component supplier of Taiwan's highway electronic toll collection (ETC) system, said the recent dispute over the BOT (build, operate, transfer) project would not affect the company's performance this year, according a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
As the infrared module supplier of the ETC system, Unity Opto said shipments and the associated impact to the company's performance are both limited. The company also highlighted that its shipment is secured on a contract basis and would not be affected. Unity Opto stressed that its shipments remains focused on LED backlight units (BLUs) and automotive-use LEDs this year.
