Taiwan-based Power protector maker Powertech Industrial is accelerating capacity expansion in anticipation of strong demand in the second half of the year, with its board of directors recently approving a US$7 million budget for equipment procurement for its manufacturing facilities in Dongguan, China.
Powertech's manufacturing is mostly based at its Dongguan facilities, while its R&D work is mostly done in Taiwan.
Powertech disclosed that it will also start volume production of DAB (digital audio broadcasting) products in June, which will give extra momentum to the company's growth in the second half of the year.
