UMC increases investment in TLC, but stresses it will not buy any more Tatung shares

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) announced that it will purchase 300 million shares from a new share issue by its wholly-own subsidiary TLC Capital, according to a UMC filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
