Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 series available in notebooks

Nvidia on April 18 unveiled its GeForce Go 7900 series of graphics processing units (GPUs) for notebook PCs.

The GPU is targeted for gaming and features DirectX 9.0, Shader Model 3.0 and H.264 hardware accelerated support, while power consumption is maintained at the same level of Nvidia’s previous generation of mobile GPUs.

The GeForce Go 7900 will be manufactured on a 90nm process.

GeForce 7900 series are now available from notebook vendors including Dell and Toshiba. Other partners that plan to ship soon include ABS, CyberPower, Falcon Northwest, Gateway, Hypersonic, iBuyPower, Velocity Micro, Vicious PC, and Voodoo PC in North America, as well as AJP, Evesham, Gericom, Multirama, Plaisio, and XS2 in Europe.
