Foxlink (Cheng Uei Precision Industry), Ji-Haw Industrial (JH) and Kye Systems are expected to post strong revenues and profit growth in the fourth quarter due to increasing shipments of Xbox 360 related components, according to a November 15 report of the Chinese-language Commercial Times.
The share prices of the companies have risen in line with increasing anticipation for the Xbox 360, the paper noted.
As of November 14, the market value of Foxlink, Kye, and JH stood at NT$31.97 billion (US$964 million), NT$5.61 billion (US$167 million), NT$2.32 billion (US$69 million), respectively, showing respective increases of 87%, 7.5% and 24% from their levels recorded at the end of 2004, noted the paper.
In addition, JH’s pre-tax profit of NT$100 million (US$2.98 million) for the third quarter was the company’s highest quarterly level and also was higher than the NT$95 million (US$2.82 million) the company earned in the first half of this year, the paper noted.
The Xbox 360 is scheduled to debut in the US market on November 22. Microsoft expects sales of the Xbox 360 to reach three million units one month after its launch and to hit 10 million units in one year, the paper said.
