Taiwan-based network equipment maker AboCom Systems will start volume production of outdoor wireless mesh network products for its US partner, Firetide, on an OEM basis from the third quarter of this year, according to company sources.
AboCom began teaming up with Firetide, a wireless networking equipment provider, starting in the second quarter of this year, with production initially focusing on indoor-use mesh network products using Firetide technology, the sources noted.
Monthly output of mesh network products for Firetide is expected to reach 10,000 units this year, the sources indicated.
AboCom is also Firetide’s exclusive representative in Taiwan, the sources said, noting that the two companies will jointly promote the mesh network products to telecom service companies in China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
