DRAMeXchange: Quiet week

Market Intelligence, DRAMeXchange
0

Last week was a quiet week for the DRAM market with little in the way of transactions. China and Europe buyers hesitated about buying since they believe future demand is grim. Despite the weak demand, China players were dumping branded DDR in the market. Both of these factors add up to a slow week. However, spot prices remained stable or dropped slightly.

From January 11-18, prices for eTT chips dropped from US$3.71 to a weekly low of US$3.65 then came back up to US$3.7 towards the end of the week.

As for SDRAM, spot prices for 64Mbit (4Mbit×16) and 256Mbit (32Mbit×8) chips performed better than for other types of chips.

Prices for 2Gbit NAND flash chips increased 2% to US$17 due to limited supply, with prices for other higher-density chips increasing slightly. Prices for 1Gbit chips dropped slightly, with lower-density parts staying flat.
