As global AI infrastructure investments continue to accelerate, OEMs, ODMs, and hyperscale cloud providers are seeking secure, scalable, and production-ready OpenBMC platforms that can shorten development cycles and accelerate deployment. Nuvoton Technology Corporation, a leading provider of Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) solutions, secure Root of Trust (RoT) and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) technologies, and AMI, a Lattice Company, today announced the availability of AMI MegaRAC OneTree BMC Firmware on the Nuvoton’s Arbel NPCM8XX Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) platform, including support on the Arbel Evaluation Board (EVB).
Strategic Collaboration for AI and Cloud Infrastructure
This collaboration provides OEMs, ODMs, hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and AI infrastructure developers with a production-ready OpenBMC-based platform that combines enterprise-class server manageability with hardware-rooted security.
The joint solution integrates Novoton's Arbel NPCM8XX, a fourth-generation quad-core Arm Cortex-A35 BMC family, with AMI MegaRAC OneTree, a commercially supported OpenBMC-based firmware platform. Customers can efficiently transition from evaluation on the Arbel EVB to production server platforms while maintaining a consistent software architecture. It also aligns with industry initiatives promoted by the Open Compute Project (OCP), enabling customers to adopt open, interoperable, and security-focused platform management architectures for next-generation AI and cloud data centers
Enterprise-Class OpenBMC Manageability
MegaRAC OneTree firmware running on Arbel delivers comprehensive server management capabilities including remote monitoring, power and thermal management, firmware lifecycle management, telemetry collection, and system maintenance. The solution supports industry-standard protocols including Redfish, IPMI 2.0, MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM, enabling interoperable platform management across modern data center environments.
Hardware-Rooted Security for Modern Infrastructure
Built on a foundation of security, the platform establishes a hardware-rooted chain of trust beginning with Arbel's immutable Boot ROM and extending through secure boot and runtime operation. The solution is further strengthened by independently validated security technologies, including OCP S.A.F.E. certification and FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic capabilities within the NPCM8XX family. Additional platform protection can be enabled through integration with AMI Tektagon for firmware integrity monitoring and recovery.
Optimized for AI and Large-Scale Data Centers
Designed for next-generation AI and cloud platforms, the solution supports accelerator management, real-time telemetry, composable infrastructure architectures, advanced cooling solutions, and large-scale fleet management, enabling customers to deploy secure and scalable infrastructure more efficiently.
"Nuvoton is committed to delivering secure, high-performance management silicon that addresses the evolving requirements of AI and cloud infrastructure," said Ken Su, Vice President of Cloud Security Business Group of Nuvoton, Nuvoton Technology Corporation. "Our collaboration with AMI demonstrates the strength of the Arbel NPCM8XX platform and provides customers with a production-ready OpenBMC solution that combines hardware-rooted trust, open industry standards, and enterprise-class manageability."
"AMI delivers innovative firmware and manageability solutions that enable customers to build and deploy next-generation computing infrastructure with confidence," said Anurag Bhatia, Corporate Vice President, Manageability & Security Group (MSG) of AMI. "MegaRAC OneTree on the Nuvoton's Arbel platform combines a secure hardware foundation with AMI's commercially supported OpenBMC platform, providing customers with the flexibility, interoperability, and long-term support required for modern AI and cloud deployments."
The collaboration reflects both companies' commitment to advancing open ecosystems and industry standards. MegaRAC OneTree provides commercial support, long-term maintenance, ongoing security updates, and a validated OpenBMC distribution, while Arbel delivers a secure silicon foundation featuring hardware-based root of trust, secure boot, device identity, and advanced cryptographic security capabilities. Customers can significantly reduce platform bring-up effort, accelerate time-to-market, and leverage a commercially supported OpenBMC ecosystem with long-term maintenance and security support.
