Global notebook shipments (excluding detachable models) in the fourth quarter of 2025 exceeded expectations, although they decreased by nearly 3% compared to the previous quarter.
A significant increase in memory prices in the fourth quarter of 2025, along with the expectation that the upward trend would continue into 2026, prompted most notebook brand vendors to actively increase shipments in the fourth quarter to mitigate rising inventory costs. Strong demand in both the consumer and business markets was also driven by the rising memory prices.
These factors combined to contribute to the smaller-than-expected decline in the fourth quarter shipments. Overall, global notebook shipments in 2025 reached 183.53 million units, representing a 4.6% increase compared to 2024.
