Rapidtek debuts mmWave antenna technology at IMS 2025

Rapidtek Technologies, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Qisda, showcased its millimeter-wave (mmWave) integrated solutions at the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2025 in San Francisco, marking the first public demonstration of its 8x8 Ka-band phased array antenna with antenna-in-package module test data.

The company's dual-polarization antenna design enables simultaneous transmission and reception on a single circuit board, improving spatial efficiency compared to conventional systems. The technology integrates with Wi-Fi 7 chips from leading Taiwanese manufacturers and supports various Wi-Fi systems.

Rapidtek highlighted its strategic partnership with Analog Devices at the event, combining ADI's RF chipsets with Rapidtek's phased array antenna expertise to deliver mmWave solutions for communications, industrial and aerospace applications. The collaboration aims to accelerate product development while enhancing system stability and scalability.

The company's antenna packaging modules integrate antennas with RF front ends to reduce signal loss and boost performance, targeting wireless network deployments in remote areas and developing markets requiring extensive coverage.

In satellite communications, Rapidtek displayed phased array antennas for non-terrestrial networks and low-Earth orbit applications. Products include Ka-band antennas developed with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute and an 8x8 Ku-band antenna mounted on Nightjar, the first 3U CubeSat.

The company also introduced magnet-free components for space communications, measurement equipment and quantum technology applications. These components use non-magnetic materials compatible with low-temperature environments, targeting quantum computers and medical devices with strict magnetic interference requirements.

Rapidtek's RF consumable portfolio spans high-frequency coaxial cables, RF switches, converters and connectors supporting frequencies up to 110GHz. The products feature low loss, high stability and environmental durability for 5G base stations, ground stations and aerospace equipment.
