Samsung Electronics Device eXperience (DX) Division acting head Roh Tae-Moon recently introduced the core concept of the future growth strategy called "ABC," aiming to strengthen existing core areas while actively exploring emerging growth businesses.
Newstof cited industry sources reporting that since May 26, 2025, Samsung has held MOSAIC discussion sessions for global DX Division employees. The MOSAIC discussions are an internal Samsung "brainstorming" initiative launched in June 2014. Entering its twelfth year in 2025, it serves as a think tank gathering diverse ideas related to company business and organizational culture.
Following the sudden passing of then-DX Division head Han Jong-Hee, Roh took over as acting head in April 2025. This MOSAIC session was chaired by Roh. Industry analysts view this discussion as a key indicator of the future direction of Samsung's DX Division.
Roh stated that given the severe environment and uncertainties ahead, the purpose of holding these discussions is to collectively find ways to break through difficulties and achieve leaps forward.
Notably, Roh proposed the theme "ABC" for this session, representing AI-driven company, Bold growth, and Core strength—three pillars forming the framework of the DX Division's future growth strategy. These stand respectively for an artificial intelligence-driven enterprise, acquiring new growth momentum for robust expansion, and leveraging strengths to create greater value through core competitiveness.
Roh stressed the necessity of innovating products and services through AI to maximize work productivity, noting that this is not only an opportunity but also essential for survival. This perspective aligns with the DX Division's existing policies.
In early May, the DX Division established an "AI Productivity Innovation Group," and each business unit set up an "AI Productivity Innovation Office." They also introduced an AI crew system to enhance execution capabilities.
Roh requested proposals for new business initiatives to promote growth within the DX Division. To support this, Samsung's DX Division created a Future Technology Office, establishing a Future Business Planning Unit and a Business Development Unit. The focus will be on cultivating four core fields: medical technology (MedTech), robotics, automotive electronics, and eco-friendly air conditioning solutions, and continuing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) around these sectors.
Samsung insiders stated that facing competitors' growth and increasing uncertainty, Samsung aims to reinforce its own advantages while seeking breakthroughs. This activity reflects the determination to turn crisis into opportunity by harnessing collective employee intelligence.
