China smartphone market, 1Q 2025

DIGITIMES's surveys revealed that smartphone shipments in the China market reached 72.5 million units in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 7.8% decrease compared to the previous quarter but a 3.5% increase year-over-year from the first quarter of 2024.

Looking ahead to the second quarter of 2025, shipments in China are expected to experience only a slight quarterly decline and remain close to the shipment levels seen in the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2025, the top five smartphone brands in the China market were Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Honor, respectively. Compared to the previous quarter, Apple fell five places to sixth position, while Huawei, Oppo, and Honor each rose one rank, and Xiaomi climbed two ranks. The combined market share of the top five brands was 83.8%, up from 83.1% in the prior quarter.
