Renesas to acquire GaN supplier Transphorm for US$339 million

Renesas said it would acquire US-based gallium nitride (GaN) supplier Transphorm to expand its power semiconductor portfolio in an era where demands for energy efficiency and EVs lead to higher demands for wide bandgap semiconductors.
