Taimide Tech has extended application of its polyimide (PI) films from flexible PCBs (FPCBs) to heat-dissipation materials, electric vehicle-use batteries and others, according to the company.
In terms of application of PI film, FPCBs account for 65% of consolidated revenues and non-FPCBs for 35%, Taimide said, adding the proportion for non-FPCBs is expected to rise to 40% in the near future. Car-use PI films take up about 10% of consolidated revenues at present and the proportion is on the rise.
High-end smartphones use more FPCBs than midange and entry-level ones, Taimide said, adding global demand for high-end smartphones is still growing, and demand for PI films are expected to increase accordingly.
Taimide posted consolidated revenues of NT$613.4 million (US$20.6 million), gross margin of 32.57%, and net profit of NT$125.2 million for second-quarter 2022, leading to consolidated revenues of NT$1.268 billion, gross margin of 33.49% and net profit of NT$246.2 million for first-half 2022.
