Renesas Electronics has confirmed it is in talks to acquire Dialog Semiconductor.
Renesas is in advanced discussions with Dialog's management regarding a possible all cash offer of EUR67.50 (US$81.25) per Dialog share for the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of Dialog, said the Japan-based company, confirming an earlier statement from Dialog.
A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate, said Renesas, which is required by regulation to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Dialog on March 7 or announce that it does not intend to make an offer.
