Taiwan's major notebook ODMs all enjoyed increased shipments in September, but saw mixed results in revenues.
Compal Electronics reported consolidated revenues of NT$96.81 billion (US$3.14 billion) for September, up 29.75% on month and 7.57% on year with consolidated revenues for the first nine months of 2019 reaching NT$712.92 billion, up 3.72% on year.
Compal shipped 4.2 million notebooks in September, up from August's 3.6 million units.
Quanta Computer registered NT$90.28 billion in September consolidated revenues, down 1.73% on month and 3.12% on year, but the combined amount for the first nine months in 2019 went up 2.94% on year to come to NT$732.21 billion.
Quanta shipped 3.5 million notebooks in September, higher than the three million units shipped in August.
Wistron saw its September revenues rise 13.64% on month, but drop 9.15% on year to arrive at NT$79.63 billion, the highest monthly level in 2019. For the first nine months in 2019, Wistron's consolidated revenues totaled NT$628.04 billion, dipping 0.97% on year.
Wistron shipped 1.8 million notebooks, 190,000 servers, 1.4 million desktops and 847,000 monitors in September, all growing from August.
Inventec announced consolidated revenues of NT$45.21 billion for September, up 9.2% on month, but down 5.9% on year. The company's third-quarter revenues were NT$128.71 billion, up 0.7% sequentially, but down 8.7% on year.
For January-September, Inventec generated a total of NT$371.38 billion in consolidated revenues, down 0.4% on year. Inventec shipped 1.7 million notebooks in September, up from August's 1.6 million.
Pegatron reported consolidated revenues of N$157.72 billion for September, up 60.27% on month and 31.53% on year with consolidated revenues from January-September rising 8.49% on year to come to NT$948.35 billion.
Pegatron shipped 950,000 units of notebooks, and 800,000 units of desktops and motherboards combined in September.
