Dell opened its first flagship retail store in Taiwan on July 4. Located in Taipei, the store will be promoting its PC and monitor products ranging from consumer, gaming to enterprise devices. Meanwhile, Acer also established a flagship retail store in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan that will begin operation on July 19.
Dell Taiwan president Terence Liao pointed out that the company has already established a total of 100 sales outlets in Taiwan with its retail partners and the flagship store will allow users to experience Dell's latest products prior to making a decision, as consumers now prefer a try-before-buy purchase model.
Currently, 98% of Dell's products are designed by the R&D center in Taiwan with only a small amount of ruggedized military PCs handled by the company's non-Taiwan facility, said Victor Chuang, site leader of Dell Taiwan Design Center. Dell in 2019 also has begun pushing its ProSupport Suite that assists clients to estimate potential problems with their hardware systems using a machine learning platform.
