UniMax Electronics, a Asustek Computer company, has been enhancing its deployments in the smart driving market by rolling out an array of smart devices such as in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems and advanced driving-assistance systems (ADAS) to deliver smart driving experiences to users.
The company, a member company of the SDL (Smart Device Link) Consortium, has managed to integrate its SDL software technology into its IVI systems that is able to address the compatibility issues between CarPlay- and Android Auto-based apps, according to company sources.
The company has also utilized iris recognition technology to develop sensor devices that is able to recognize a driver's identity with an accuracy rate of 99%, according company president Kent Chien.
The sensors can also be used to detect the degrees of fatigue or distractions of a driver by judging the subtle changes of the driver's pupil and face and send a message to the flee management center or a designated person, Chien said.
In addition to related SDL technologies, UniMax currently also offers a number of automobile electronic products such as hand gesture control modules, wireless charging plate, glass-free HUD (head-up display) devices and IoV DVRs.
