PCB and IC substrate inspection equipment maker Machvision has reported net profits of NT$50.5 million (US$1.69 million) for the first quarter of 2013, up 112.3% sequentially but down 19% on year. First-quarter earnings translated into an EPS of NT$1.50.
Machvision's shipments of automatic optical inspection (AOI) equipment for IC substrate applications will be a growth driver for the company in 2013, as IC substrate clients, including Kinsus Interconnect Technology and Unimicron Technology, are continuing to ramp up their capacity, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.
Machvision will begin to ship AOI equipment for touch panel and flexible PCB applications at the end of the second quarter of 2013, further fueling growth in the second half of the year, the paper said.
