Taiwan recorded total export value of US$21.08 billion in January 2012, decreasing 12.0% on month and 16.8% on year, while the total import value of US$20.66 billion fell 4.5% on month and 11.9% on year, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF). The decreases were mainly due to the 2012 Lunar New Year vacation in late January, MOF said.
Among different categories of Taiwan-made products, electronics had the largest export value of US$5.534 billion in January, slipping 17.4% on month and 23.2%% on year.
