Taiwan-based Kinko Optical became a supplier of glass lens kits for use in Canon digital cameras, including DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) models, in January 2010, and expects the monthly shipment volume to keep increasing from one million lens pieces (a lens kit consists of a few lens pieces) currently to 2.4 million pieces in the third quarter of 2011, according to the company.

Shipments of lens kits used in Canon digital cameras currently account for 14-15% of Kinko's consolidated revenues, the company said.

Kinko has released its consolidated financial report for the first half of 2010, posting a gross margin of 13.42%, net operating profit of NT$120.4 million (US$3.7 million), net profit of NT$103.6 million and net EPS of NT$0.73.
