I-Chiun Precision Industry, a maker of SMD lead frames used in LED packaging, posted June consolidated revenues of NT$605 million (US$18.9 million), hitting a monthly record for the third consecutive month and marking the first time the company exceeded the NT$600 million threshold. June consolidated revenues rose 5.71% on month and 40.79% on year.

Its consolidated revenues of NT$1.739 billion for the second quarter of 2010 were a new quarterly record as well, increasing 52.41% from a year earlier and 27.49% sequentially. Sales for the first half of 2010 totaled NT$3.104 billion, growing by 60% from a year ago.

I-Chiun's monthly capacity for SMD lead frames is expected to increase to two billion units by year's end from about 800 million units at the end of 2009. SMD lead frames accounted for 54% of the company's revenues in the second quarter.

The company's third-quarter revenues are projected to grow by 16%, according to market watchers, adding that the fourth quarter should be strong as well on rising demand from the LED TV and LED lighting markets.
