Taiwan-based flexible PCB (FPCB) maker Career Technology had October revenues of NT$614 million (US$19 million), up 7.2% on month, while Flexium Interconnect had consolidated sales of NT$367 million last month, up 1.6% sequentially. However, both companies expect their revenues to fall on month in November and again in December.
Career indicated demand for FPCBs used in digital still cameras (DSCs) remains strong. Demand from the handset segment has recovered, but demand from the notebook segment is still flat.
Flexium's October revenues hit the highest of the year, driven by increased demand for LED light bars used in handsets and notebooks, said the company.
As it is entering the low season, both companies expect to see revenues decline slightly in the fourth quarter.
Career has reported net profits of NT$205 million for the third quarter, about nine times its second-quarter level, with net EPS of NT$0.64. Flexium's third-quarter net profits were NT$136 million with a net EPS of NT$1.
