International Games System (IGS), a producer of arcade game software/hardware and an operator of online gaming services in Taiwan, and Game Flier International, another online game operator in Taiwan, both recently announced deals to operate Korean-based online games in Taiwan.
IGS on October 12 announced signing a deal with South Korea-based WeMade Entertainment to introduce the online game Chang Chun in Taiwan. The deal marks the first time IGS has become an operating agent for another game developer, IGS pointed out. The formal launch of the game is scheduled for mid-2008, the company indicated.
Game Flier International, through its parent company, Soft-World International, announced on October 12 that it signed a deal with South Korea-based T3 Entertainment to become the Taiwan operating agent of Orka Online, a 3D RPG (role-playing game) and trading card game.
With an open beta test to begin in January 2008, Orka Onlne is expected to attract 30,000 concurrent players and have as many as 600,000 members, Game Flier pointed out. The online game will generate revenues of NT$30 million (US$921,000) a month, Game Flier estimated.
