Altek, Ability Enterprise and Asia Optical, three of the top four Taiwan-based ODM/OEM makers of digital cameras, on July 6 reported their self-estimated consolidated revenues for June of this year, recording year-on-year growth of 40.2%, 27.3% and 41% respectively.

Ability Enterprise shipped 5.4 million digital cameras during the first half of the year, more than originally expected, the company indicated. Ability Enterprise may upward adjust its 2007 target shipment volume from 10 million units to 11 million and will increase the monthly production capacity at its factory in Tongguan, southern China, from 1.2 million units to 1.5 million later this month, the company noted.

Asia Optical started operation at its new factory in Shenzen, southern China, in June and has extended production from phone camera lens kits to CCMs (compact camera modules), the company pointed out.

Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical, two makers of optical lens kits and CCMs in Taiwan, also reported their self-estimated June consolidated revenues on July 6.
