Samsung Electronics on June 8 unveiled two new color laser printer models, CLX-2160 and CLX-3160FN, for sale in the Taiwan market with the former to be launched later in June and the latter just launched. Samsung expects to sell 30,000 laser printers to reach a market share of 12-15% in 2007, according to Samsung Electronics Taiwan.
Samsung entered the Taiwan printer market in 2004 and currently ranks third or fourth in terms of sales volume, Samsung Taiwan director, SM Hong indicated. In 2007, Samsung will focus on marketing color laser printer models, especially those catering to SOHO (small office/home office) and business users, Hong noted.
With the adoption of Samsung-developed second-generation noise-reduction technology, NO-NOISE, both CLX-2160 and CLX-3160FN can reach noise levels of 49dBA for printing and 52dBA for photocopying, Hong pointed out.
