Phoenix Precision Technology (PPT) is claiming that Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (NPC) has infringed its plastic ball-grid array (PBGA) substrate NPL (Non Plating Line) production process and architecture related patents, and the company is considering suing NPC, if NPC has not supplied a reasonable response by February 17, according to the company.
PPT has indicated that it had filed PBGA NPL patents at Taiwan’s IPO in 2003. PPT had also notified fellow players and upstream component customers about its patents and informed them that they should negotiate related patents authorization with PPT if they wished to use PPT’s designs.
