Three leading Taiwan-based handset component makers – Merry Electronics, Silitech, and Taiwan Green Point (TGP) – saw their monthly consolidated revenues go up again for the fourth consecutive month in November, while revenues at handset-use flexible PCB maker Ichia Technologies climbed to the company’s highest level in 2005 last month, according to sources at the companies.
More new handset models introduced by the world’s leading vendors in the fourth quarter helped drive up revenues at the local handset component makers, the sources noted.
Merry expects its shipments of hands-free headsets to continue growing in December due to the increasing popularity of MP3-enabled handsets, said company vice president Tseng Chin-tang.
TGP expects its fourth-quarter revenues will be the highest quarterly level for all of 2005 as its shipments of handset-use chassis and keypads are expected to peak in the October-December period, according to company sources.
