Thecus Technology, a company specializing in multimedia data storage solutions and wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) access systems, today introduced the N2100 YES Box, an IP storage unit based on Intel’s 80219 processor supporting the XScale Technology.
The N2100 offers two internal 3.5-inch SATA hard disks for up to 800GB of memory and a variety of disk storage arrays, including RAID 0, RAID 1 and JBOD (just a bunch of disks) to provide users more capacity for storing video, movie and photo files. With advanced power saving management, the N2100 consumes 30% less power compared to a similarly configured PC.
Installation of the N2100 can be completed in a matter of minutes. With its web-based interface, users can manage their personal storage server from anywhere on the network with their favorite browser. Along with network neighborhood connectivity, the N2100 is compatible with operating systems including Windows, Apple OS X and Linux.
The N2100 comes fully equipped with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. Three high-speed USB 2.0 ports enable the IP storage to connect to high-speed flash storage devices, while one-button copy functionality allows the N2100 to copy and store your data at a touch of a button.
The N2100 offers protocol support for enhanced connectivity. Use the N2100 as an FTP (file transfer protocol) server or an iTunes server. With the YES Community Photo Web Server, this handy application turns your YES Box into a fully-fledged photo bank and enables users to create digital photo albums that can be shared with every PC on the network.
