MediaTek, Taiwan’s largest optical storage chipset design house, published its 2003 financial report on February 2, with an EPS of NT$25.96. The company’s 2003 pre-tax profits of NT$16.609 billion exceeded published forecasts by 31.8% and set a new annual record.

MediaTek has scheduled an investors conference for Thursday. Investors are concerned about the company’s sales performance in mobile phone ICs, its new product line, and the influence of insufficient foundry capacity on the company’s production costs, analysts said.
