Intel predicts 2001 global notebook sales to reach 29 million units

Intel has projected that 29-30 million notebook computers will be sold in 2001. As it enjoys a 90% share of the notebook processor market, the microprocessor giant can be expected to sell 27 million notebook processors this year.
