High-end cloud AI accelerator shipments will exceed 10 million units in 2025, with Nvidia facing growing pressure as Huawei and AWS rise.
Abstract

DIGITIMES' study shows that the combined capex of the four major US cloud service providers (CSPs), including Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS), is estimated to have increased by over 30% year-over-year in 2025, while signicantly expanded demand for sovereign AI computing power is also projected to help ramp up shipments of high-end cloud AI accelerators in 2025, marking a 38% annual growth.

Nvidia will remain the market leader; however, due to delayed shipments of the GB200, its 2025 shipment forecast was revised down. In contrast, Huawei and AWS are expected to achieve shipment growth rates of 118% and 114%, respectively, highlighting emerging growth pressures on Nvidia.

Additionally, manufacturing processes and packaging technologies accelerated their upgrades. TSMC's 3nm process penetration is anticipated to reach 5.5%, while SMIC's N+2 process penetration is projected at 3.2%. On the packaging front, Chinese OSAT service provider SJ Semiconductor's SmartPoser technology will also see increased market share, indicating that high-end cloud AI accelerators are expanding toward a multi-process and multi-platform direction.
