Global OSAT revenue is estimated to grow by 12.8% in 2026, and AI applications will contribute to advanced packaging business revenues.
Abstract

The global OSAT (Outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) industry has maintained steady growth since 2023. Driven by inventory stockpiling of end products amid US President Donald Trump's tariff policies, global OSAT revenue is projected to reach US$45.92 billion in 2025, up 11.6%, according to DIGITIMES.

Looking ahead to 2026, revenue is expected to rise 12.8% year-on-year, supported by mass production of advanced packaging technologies and increasing orders from AI applications. Major OSAT providers are actively investing in advanced packaging capabilities for automotive and AI markets while expanding capacity both domestically and overseas through new equipment purchases and fab construction.

Starting in 2026, AI-related products are expected to ramp up further, driving additional revenue growth. However, rising memory prices pose a downside risk, as higher costs for downstream consumer electronics could negatively impact overall revenue.
