STMicroelectronics introduced its Near Zero Power (NZP) L6440 preamplifier for hard disk drives (HDDs) smaller than 2.5-inches.
With the total write-mode power consumption of the L6440 being 170mW (at 450Mb/s data rate), STMicroelectronics said the solution will enable manufacturers to offer longer battery lifetime. The maximum data support rate of the L6440 is set at 600 Mbps.
