Osram breaks ground in Malaysia for new LED chip plant

To meet growing global demand for LEDs, Osram Opto Semiconductors recently broke ground for its LED chip factory in Penang, Malaysia.

The factory in Penang will operate, in addition to Osram's main plant in Regensburg, Germany, to manufacture LED chips with nitride technology.
