UPS debuts cutting-edge GPS-enabled device DIAD IV

The logistics company UPS debuts the latest GPS-enabled portable device Delivery Information Acquisition Device (DIAD) IV. UPS aims to deploy 70,000 DIAD by 2007 for tracking customer delivery data. This device can connect to a GPRS or CDMA mobile network and link locally to Wi-Fi networks. Bluetooth and infrared capabilities for short-range wireless connection are also equipped.
