Topco Technologies has signed a collaboration agreement with Panasonic Communications to develop energy-efficient LED street lights integrated with security camera systems, with product shipments starting from the second quarter. By integrating energy-efficient LED street lights with security control technology, the operation and brightness of street lights can be remotely controlled, pointed out Topco Technologies. The technology can not only adjust the use of street lights according to needs, but can also double efficiency thereby saving energy, noted the company. Topco Technologies indicated that there are on-going projects in England, Australia, Germany and Japan and that increasing demand for LED street lighting expected from the third quarter will become a important driver of growth for the company in the second half of 2008.
