NEC may give LCD driver IC orders to HHNEC, UMCJ

As part of a bid to boost handset-use LCD driver IC output, NEC Electronics plans to outsource production to Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Co (HHNEC) and United Microelectronics Corporation Japan (UMCJ), the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun reported.
