HP maintained its annual guidance for cash flow even as it grapples with slumping PC demand, a sign it expects a rebound later in the year.

ASML sharpened its full-year guidance as demand for its chip-making equipment soared during the global semiconductor shortage.

Chipmaker Broadcom on Thursday pulled its financial projections for the year, citing uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic, and said it would push debt payments to the second half of the year or earlier if conditions improve.

Qualcomm (QCOM) said on Wednesday that it has lowered its earnings guidance for next quarter in part due to the virus outbreak in China.

"Our first quarter revenue guidance reflects the inventory correction currently underway in the smartphone market," said Steve Kelley, Amkor's president and CEO.

Skyworks Solutions, a supplier to Apple, lowered its fiscal first-quarter revenue and profit guidance, citing a weakening smartphone market.

Shares in iPhone parts supplier Lumentum plunged after the maker of optical devices on Monday cut its fiscal second-quarter revenue guidance by roughly 17% and its profit outlook by 25%. The slashed guidance sent down shares in presumed customer Apple.

Micron Technology shares rose Monday after the Boise, Idaho-based memory chipmaker raised its guidance for the fiscal third quarter.

Chipmaker AMS reported first-quarter sales toward the lower end of its guidance range on Monday and warned of a downturn owing to weaker orders from one of its main customers.

Samsung Electronics has reported a 50% profit surge in its guidance for the fourth quarter despite the fiasco with its flagship Note 7 phone. The earnings estimate is higher than analysts predicted and would mark its highest quarterly profit since 2013.

With the help of Apple's iPhone 7 ramp and a big increase in the amount of revenue the company will get from each iPhone, Broadcom's results and guidance were a little better than analysts forecast.

Contract manufacturer Jabil, which supplies Apple's iPhones, projected guidance for next quarter well below expectations, which analysts said might suggest a weak Apple product cycle.

Applied Materials said orders hit a 15-year high in its latest quarter, prompting the maker of semiconductor manufacturing tools to project a major rebound in its business later in 2016 as those transactions are completed.

Though Xilinx beat FQ4 estimates, it's guiding for FQ1 revenue to be roughly flat relative to FQ4's $571.1M. That implies sales will miss a $578.7M consensus.

"We expect to see continued overall business strength in the second half of 2015 due to increased demand from memory and foundry customers compared with our previous expectations," ASML president and CEO Peter Wennink said.

Hard-disk drive storage provider Seagate on Monday lowered its revenue and margin guidance ahead of the release of its fourth quarter earnings report later this month.

Xilinx has reported that revenue fell 8.2%, missing expectations for the quarter ended in March and the chip maker's sales guidance for the current period missed analysts' estimates.

The guidance is slightly better than an average 35% decline forecast by a Dow Jones survey of eight analysts.

Its forecasts also indicate potentially slowing profit growth at its mobile business-a signal that its run of record results is under threat by rising competition and lower-margin phones taking up a bigger proportion of sales.

Dutch semiconductor-manufacturing equipment maker ASML said Wednesday it sees weak demand in memory chips, and adjusted its second half net sales guidance to the lower end of its earlier EUR2.2 billion-EUR2.4 billion range.

The current global economic uncertainties led to a softer than expected development in the company's operating business, Infineon said in a statement.

Shares of flash memory chip maker Spansion are taking a beating Friday after the company disclosed weaker-than-expected 3Q11 results and highly disappointing guidance for the fourth quarter.

Programmable logic vendor Altera has reported third quarter sales that came in below analysts' expectations and the company's own revised guidance, with CEO John Daane saying customers are burning through existing inventories in a manner reminiscent of the downturn of 2008.

The company now expects net sales to decline 6% to 8% sequentially. This compares to the initial guidance of flat to down 3% sequentially.

The reduction in expected revenue and profitability for the third quarter is primarily the result of reduced demand from the company's largest customer, weakness in the communications infrastructure market and softening demand from the China market.

Sales are now expected to decline 7% to 10% sequentially. This is a revision from previous guidance that called for sales to be up 1% to down 3% sequentially.

The majority of the reduction is from the company's wireless products, which have experienced an unexpected decline in demand and pricing.

Texas Instruments sounded a warning for the holiday season as it reported lacklustre activity from manufacturers in computing and consumer electronics, including TVs and gaming machines.

Citing strong global smartphone adoption and the "expanded opportunities" afforded by its completed acquisition of Wi-Fi chipmaker Atheros, Qualcomm also raised its revenue and (non-GAAP) earnings guidance for the rest of the year.
