Digitimes Research: Large-size TFT LCD panel unit shipments to decrease 3.5% in 2013

Global large-size (9-inch and above) TFT LCD panel shipments will reach 722 million units in 2013, decreasing 3.5% from 749 million units shipped in 2012, as a result of weakening demand from the PC sector, Digitimes Research estimates.
Digitimes Research: Taiwan foundry capacity utilization to fall in 4Q12
Utilization rates at Taiwan's top-3 IC foundries will average 84.8% in the fourth quarter of 2012, down from 94.8% in the prior quarter, according to Digitimes Research's latest findings. Weaker-than-expected end-market demand has resulted in rising inventory levels among their fabless and IDM customers, which already led to a sequential decrease in their average utilization rates in the third quarter.
Digitimes Research: China LED packaging houses Refond, Jufei, Z-Light to continue capacity growth in 2013
Refond Optoelectronics, Jufei Optoelectronics, and Z-Light Optoelectronics are medium-size LED packaging firms in China. These firms have relatively low capital compared to Nationstar Optoelectronics and Hongli Opto-Electronics, but these firms have been focusing on LED packaging, hence monthly capacity has reached 100-400 million units.
