Some Taiwan-based networking device vendors have seen their order visibility extend to the first quarter of 2022 thanks to the increasing popularity of Wi-Fi 6, 5G FWA (fixed wireless access), DOCSIS3.1 and other IoT applications, according to industry sources.

Sercomm is set to see its shipments for related 5G devices continue gaining momentum in the latter half of 2021 and 2022, as it will be busy fulfilling orders from Canada-based Rogers Communications supporting its expanding 5G FWA services, said the sources.

Revenues generated from 5G devices are likely to account for a double-digit percentage of Sercomm's total sales in 2022, the sources estimated.

Sercomm has reported revenues of NT$15.994 billion (US$575.78 million) for the first five months of 2021, up 28.79% on year.

Fellow company D-Link has also deepened its deployment in the 5G sector by launching its integrated 5G CPE and FWA solutions.

And for FWA applications, the company has unveiled a new 5G gateway device that delivers robust security and high reliability to address critical wireless communication requirements.

It has also released a Nuclias Connect solution targeting on-premise network management. With Nuclias Connect and its wide range of compatible devices, including Wi-Fi 6 access points, smart switches, and a new network controller hub, SMBs with remote locations can build and manage the surveillance network they require to optimize productivity, according to company data.
