Transcend announces 32GB SSD
Press release, October 12; Eric Mah, DIGITIMES [Monday 15 October 2007]

Transcend recently announce the arrival of its 32GB 2.5-inch SATA solid state drive (SSD) which can be used in most notebook computers and mainstream PCs just like a regular hard drive.

Transcend's 2.5-inch SATA SSD has the standard compact dimensions as normal 2.5-inch hard drives, but is only 9.5mm thick. The 2.5-inch SATA SSD has built-in ECC (error correction code) functionality that ensures reliable data transfer and increases overall system integrity. Built-in wear leveling technology also ensures ultra-long lifespan and data-retention durability for prolonged use.

The 2.5-inch SATA SSD is currently available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities. The 8GB version is available at a pre-tax price US$239 while the 16GB and 32GB models have a pre-tax price of US$449 and US$376, respectively.
