GVC to see significant mobile phone shipment growth this year

Lite-On Electronics Group subsidiary GVC is slated to begin shipping GPRS (general packet radio service) mobile phones to Ericsson in the first quarter of this year. GVC had earlier said that shipments would start in the fourth quarter of 2001.
