Global large-size LCD panel shipments will fall at a negative CAGR of 0.8% from 2020 through 2024 mainly due to saturated demand for TVs, monitors, AIO PCs, notebooks and tablets with 9-inch and above display.
Meanwhile, global small- to medium-size LCD panel shipments are estimated to reach 1.8 billion units in 2024, falling at a negative CAGR of 4.4% from 2019 through 2024.
As AMOLED panels are growing popular among handset applications, more vendors are expected to use AMOLED panels for their smartphones, thus cutting demand for LCD panels. By 2024, half of global handset shipments will be equipped with AMOLED panels, while the other half LCD ones.
