Toumaz to showcase latest connected technologies at Computex 2011

Press release

Taipei, Taiwan, 1 June 2011: Toumaz, the leading provider of ultra-low energy wireless telemetry technologies for medical monitoring and internet-connected consumer devices, will be demonstrating its latest connected technologies and solutions at 2011 Computex Taipei (31 May - 4 June).

Toumaz will be showcasing its range of innovative products including the Sensium Life Platform, a vital signs monitoring platform; XENIF, an all-in-one internet connected and broadcast audio SoC; and the recently launched TELRAN.

The Telran TZ1053 is a single chip radio for point to point and star wireless sensor network applications. With an exceptional ultra-low power consumption of ~3mW in continuous Tx/Rx with the ability to operate from a single 1V button cell, it leads its class as a low power sub 1GHz radio transceiver for both connected healthcare and connected consumer markets.

Dr. Charles Lee, General Manager of Toumaz Asia commented, "Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the widespread use of wireless networks have changed the way we live. People now have greater expectations to live more comfortable, convenient, safe, and energy-efficient lives, and it is wireless connectivity and sensors that are seen to be the key enablers for realizing this 'smart life'. As a pioneer of low cost, ultra low power wireless communications and broadcast technology we are leading this connected revolution with our customers by bringing next generation products with breakthrough applications to the market to distinctively enrich the end user's experience."

In Toumaz's Computex demo suite you can see the Sensium, a state of the art platform for ultra low power wireless vital signs monitoring, in action. XENIF, a highly integrated SoC that brings Wi-Fi, DAB, FM and DTV audio altogether, will also be demonstrated. XENIF is capable of simultaneously running Linux and performing audio DSP, moreover, because it also includes two UCCP310 baseband DSP processors, the device can process Wi-Fi baseband and DAB/FM broadcast demodulation at the same time. XENIF is completed with a rich peripheral set including a full audio sub-system, USB and SD card connectivity as well as LCD display controller. XENIF is a feature-rich all-in-one platform for the cost-effective development of Wi-Fi connected products.

Toumaz will also showcase its latest solution, TZ1053 TELRAN, an ultra-low energy (ULE) wireless single chip radio for the first time in Asia. TELRAN is a complete ultra-low power radio modem comprising transceiver, media access controller (MAC) and an 8051 sub-1 GHz compatible microprocessor, which makes it an easy-to-use and flexible solution for WSN (Wireless Sensor Network), smart meters, environmental monitoring, RF remote control for TV, air conditioner, lighting system, and security system, etc.

The demonstrations will take place in the Toumaz suite, Grand Hyatt Taipei, Room 1148. For more information, please contact sales@toumaz-asia.com.
