AnexTEK to launch moboDA 3360 PDA phone in October

Celia Lin, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES Asia

AnexTEK Global, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wistron, plans to launch its new own-brand PDA phone, the moboDA 3360, in October, according to company sources.

The moboDA 3360, manufactured by Wistron, is a pocket PC phone powered by a Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and runs on a 520HMz Intel PXA 272 processor, the sources noted.

The new PDA phone comes one-and-a-half year after the company launched its first PDA phone, the SP230, in March 2004. However, the sources noted that the company will speed up the launch of new phones in 2006, with at least two new models to be introduced in the coming year. The company aims to promote its hand-held products under the new brand name “moboDA,” which stands for mobile plus PDA.
