SanDisk and Sony work on SxS memory card

SanDisk and Sony have announced plans to develop a new memory card specification called SxS (S-by-S), which is aimed at the professional video market.

Expected to be available later in the year, the SxS specification uses flash memory. It also complies with the ExpressCard industry standard, which means that it can be easily used in notebook computers with an ExpressCard slot.
