Samsung highlights new LED TVs at IFA 2007

Press release, September 5; Emily Chuang, DIGITIMES Asia 0

Samsung Electronics recently announced new F9 series LCD TVs including one 52-inch and one 70-inch model, which use LED backlighting technology. The two models are being shown at IFA 2007 (Aug 31- Sep 5) in Berlin, Germany.

The full HD TVs feature a dynamic contrast ratio of 500,000 to 1 and brightness of 450 nits. In addition, because the TVs use LED technology, they are some of the most environmentally friendly TV options available, claimed Samsung. Samsung was also able to achieve significant reductions in power usage, more than 30%, according to the company.

The F9 line also comes with Wiselink USB 2.0 for handy connections to digital cameras and digital music players, and three HDMI connections that allow the users to take advantage of the Full HD capability of their various components, such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, and HD camcorders.

The 52-inch versions come equipped with Samsung's Auto-wall mount feature, allowing the viewer to easily change the viewing angle up to 20-degrees side to side and 15-degrees down using the remote control.
