AU Optronics (AUO) will exhibit new ALCD LCD TV displays at Touch Taiwan 2015 that integrate Ultra HD (4K) resolution, curved design, quantum dot (QD) wide color gamut, and HDR (high dynamic range) technologies.
AUO will exhibit a series of 55-, 65- and 85-inch ALCD TV displays, with color saturation exceeding NTSC 100%. For backlight module design, the ALCD TV displays have applied HDR technology. The backlight can be controlled in zones to achieve higher contrast through local dimming. Images are depicted in more details against dark backgrounds and present more color depth, resembling more of what human eye can see in the real world.
AUO will also present public information displays with ultra high brightness, dual sides, low reflection, water- and dust-proof features. The 65-inch Full HD ultra-high brightness display boasts 2500 nits and can be used for outdoor signage. It is capable of showing bright and sharp images under direct sunlight. AUO will also demonstrate a 55-inch ultra-high brightness display for vending machines for the first time.
To address professional demands such as audio-video gaming, image designing and video processing, AUO said it has developed various types of professional monitor displays, including 35-inch ultra wide curved LCDs for monitors with 2000R curvature, and 27- and 32-inch 4K edge-to-edge monitor displays with 100% Adobe RGB wide color gamut.
