Digitimes Research: China sees increased tablet AP shipments in 2Q14

A total of 30.6 million tablet APs (application processors) were shipped to the China market in second-quarter 2014, increasing 10.5% sequentially and 39.1% on year, according to Digitimes Research.

In terms of core architecture, Cortex-A9 accounted for 39.5% of the shipments, Cortex-A7 37.0% and Cortex-A8 12.5%, Digitimes Research indicated.

Taiwan-based IC design house MediaTek was the second largest vendor with a market share of 25.6%, while China-based Rockchip Electronics, Allwinner Technology, Actions Semiconductor and Amlogic ranked first, third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
